Biography

“Get comfortable with being outside of your comfort zone.”

Growing up as the youngest of four children with an abundance of pets (even having owned 8 different species at the same time!), my household was always bustling. My exposure to the seemingly endless guests shaped me into an outgoing and personable individual, and my early bonds with various animals incited a deep-rooted and continuously growing passion to care for others. From children’s camps to elder’s homes, peer tutoring to community kitchens, animal shelters to rehabilitation centers, from a young age I fostered an adoration for giving back to my community through volunteering. As I grew older and leadership positions became available, I took advantage of the opportunity to lead by example and positively influence others through my own actions. In doing so, I prioritized creating an inclusive environment where everyone has the opportunity to prosper, a value that I carry with me as I navigate new chapters of my life.

As a third year Biomedical Sciences major with a passion for working with animals and children, I am captivated by the unpredictability of the medical field. With new experiences offered every day, I am eager to demonstrate the multitude of skills I have refined over the years, and value the opportunity to learn and develop new skills. Although I don’t yet know what my post-graduation plans entail, I am maintaining an open mind as I utilize my time at university to venture down new paths, make new friends, and discover new passions.
