The Scholars Academy is a powerhouse community for the University of Calgary's boldest undergraduate students. We bring together diverse minds to foster research, leadership, and real-world impact.

Established in 2011 through the generosity of Chancellor Emerita Joanne Cuthbertson, the Academy was built on the belief that high-achieving students go farthest when they receive tailored guidance and are in community with one another.

Ms. Cuthbertson’s legacy ensures that students don't just succeed individually. They grow as a cohort. Under her guidance, our scholars take the UCalgary name with them as they lead change in their communities and careers.

Applications for the 2026 Rhodes Scholarships

All applicants must be endorsed by their post-secondary institution before applying to the Regional Rhodes Canada Competition. Inquiries can be directed to sap@ucalgary.ca

The application deadline for the 2026 cycle has now closed, and we are no longer accepting or reviewing submissions for this cycle. Applicants are encouraged to keep an eye out for updates on the 2027 cycle and prepare to submit their applications once the next cycle opens.
