This program focuses on improving team and community leadership skills, and on setting the foundation of your career. You become more engaged both within the campus and wider communities through workshops, and a service learning project.
The Sophomore Leadership Program also gives students the opportunity to develop a mentorship relationship with a professional in your area of interest, assisting you in developing your career vision and professional contacts.
What can I expect? Joining the Sophomore Leadership Program (SLP) provides the opportunity to improve your leadership and employability skills, contribute to the community, and foster connections with upper-year students and professionals in your field.
How will I participate? How will I participate? For the Fall, you will be engaging with workshops and events that will teach you more about project management. This builds up to the Winter where you will plan, develop, and carry out a project of your (or your group’s) choosing and present it to your fellow participants.
Who can apply? Any undergraduate second-year and above student at UCalgary.
When does it take place? SLP runs from September to April each year.
Application Details: Applications for the Sophomore Leadership Program are open until Sept. 18, 2022.
