As an international student studying full-time with a valid study permit, there are a couple of work options that are available to you. Most scenarios don’t require a work permit.

How to know if you can work in Canada
All international student work programs require you to be a full-time student with a valid study permit.
You may not be eligible to work in Canada if you aren’t enrolled full-time and/or you don’t have a valid study permit.
Working while studying
As an international student studying full-time with a valid study permit, there are a couple of work options that are available to you.
Social Insurance Number (SIN)
International students must have a Social Insurance Number (SIN) to receive employment income in Canada.
Obtaining work post-graduation
Get information on applying for your post-graduation work permit so that you can remain working in Canada upon completing your degree.
Working on UCalgary Campus
If you are an UCalgary student registered full-time and have a valid Study Permit, you may work on-campus regardless of your program of study.1
