Work Permits

As an international student studying full-time with a valid study permit, there are a couple of work options that are available to you. Most scenarios don’t require a work permit.

The Government of Canada has removed COVID-19 border and travel measures effective October 1, 2022. However, there is a temporary COVID-19 testing requirements for certain travellers.

How to know if you can work in Canada

All international student work programs require you to be a full-time student with a valid study permit. 

You may not be eligible to work in Canada if you aren’t enrolled full-time and/or you don’t have a valid study permit.

International students must have a Social Insurance Number (SIN) to receive employment income in Canada.
