Lauren is a PhD student working under the supervision of Dr. Kathryn Schneider and Dr. Carolyn Emery at the Sport Injury Prevention Research Centre. She is a Certified Athletic Therapist and has been working in youth sports, primarily hockey, soccer and volleyball since 2014. Lauren graduated with distinction from Vancouver Island University with a Bachelor of Arts in Physical Education, from Mount Royal University with an Advanced Certificate in Athletic Therapy and most recently, from the University of British Columbia with a Master’s of Rehabilitation Science. Her master’s project investigated the adequacy of the Hockey Canada Safety course through a white paper. Lauren’s research interests will focus on the evaluation of policy pertaining to healthcare delivery for safety in sport with regards to concussion and injury in general.
