Biography

Originally born in Egypt, Monica G. remembers spending her summers building sand castles at the beach. When she was ten years old, her family moved to Canada where Monica encountered the largest and most influential change of my childhood coming to a completely new environment where she discovered a passion for music, learning and helping others.

Naturally curious about the world around her, Monica challenged herself academically throughout high school by taking advanced placement courses. She also took on leadership roles in her school community, such as Youth In Philanthropy and the Rotary Interact Club.

In the local community, Monica volunteered at a personal care home and the MS Society of Canada. She credits her volunteer experiences with enriching her understanding of others and helping her to appreciate the opportunities that she has had.

Monica is looking forward to continuing her education as a Chancellor’s Club Scholar as she pursues her Bachelor of Health Sciences degree in fall 2016.
