Set up a solid plan for making a smooth transition to university by meeting with an Academic Development Specialist in early Fall.
I now know what my personal strengths are and how I can use my strengths with my academics to become a better student.
The Student Success Centre also specializes in academic advising for current and prospective students who need a little extra help exploring and choosing a program that is best suited to their interests, abilities and career aspirations.

My First Six Weeks is designed to help you develop the skills you will need to achieve personal and academic success in your first year at the University of Calgary. Learn what to expect in your first year and develop strategies for managing motivation, setting effective academic and life goals and building time-management skills. There is also a special focus on getting involved on campus, balancing your student life and other transitions you may encounter in your first year. This program also offers credit toward your Co-Curricular Record.
I found the tips on how to study and manage my time effectively under a university course load was the most useful. Furthermore, I thought it was useful that I was able to connect with other first year students, as well as upper year students.

You can view and download your lecture presentations or notes, check on your grades, submit assignments, read your course outlines, learn about assignments, add to class discussions, and more!
