iGEM team heads to MIT
A team of 15 undergraduate students from four faculties is off to the international Genetically Engineered Machines (iGEM) competition this weekend with projects that include bacteria to help unclog pipelines and an experiential, virtual learning environment.

Power off to save carbs
The University of Calgary’s annual Cut the Carbs challenge begins Nov. 9 with students, staff and faculty competing to see who can reduce their energy consumption the most by turning off lights, computers and other consumers of electricity.
