UToday HomeMay 24, 2012

I am pleased to announce the recipients of the President’s Award for Excellence in Student Leadership for June 2012 convocation. The President's Award recognizes students with a record of outstanding academic achievement and proven leadership skills who have made significant contributions to our community.

These President’s award recipients are inspiring leaders, caring mentors, outstanding volunteers and committed ambassadors. Each is a scholar in her own right:

Kasmira Pawa graduates at the June 4 afternoon convocation ceremony with a BSc in Mechanical Engineering. She was the Schulich School of Engineering representative for the Students’ Union and is past President of the Engineering Students’ Society.

Michelle Huie graduates at the June 7 morning convocation ceremony with a BHSc (Honours) in Biomedical Sciences. She was the Faculty of Medicine representative for the Students’ Union and is past President of the Health and Medicine Club.

Nicole Cousins graduates at the June 7 afternoon convocation ceremony with a BSc (Honours) in Neuroscience. She was elected by her peers as a 2012 Graduating Class Ambassador and is Coordinator and Founder of the Neuroscience First Year Students Mentoring Program.

Please join me in congratulating Kasmira, Michelle and Nicole, and read more about them in upcoming UToday stories.
