Research student awarded Trudeau Scholarship

Isabelle Chouinard has been recognized for her work in ethics and patient care with a $180,000 scholarship. Chouniard , a PhD student in Health Services Research in the Community Health Sciences graduate program, Faculty of Medicine, is researching the ethics of evidence-based medicine with the goal of enhancing the delivery of health care for Canadians.

Chouinard says winning the Trudeau Scholarship is humbling and a privilege, “Being part of the Trudeau community provides an unparalleled opportunity to network with great thinkers in a variety of disciplines,” she says.

"Trudeau Scholarships not only accelerate the careers of those who receive them, but also enable recipients to make a significant contribution to Canada and to Canadians,” says Foundation President P.G. Forest. “We reward excellence and provide young doctorate students with the best conditions to ground their work in the real world."

In addition to receiving financial support, Trudeau Scholars benefit from the expertise and knowledge of Trudeau Fellows and Mentors, highly accomplished individuals in the Trudeau Foundation community who lead in both academic and non-academic settings.
