Workshops outline new copyright procedures

The Libraries and Cultural Resources (LCR) Copyright Office is offering workshops to help faculty and staff learn more about the University of Calgary’s copyright procedures and benefits.

These free workshops are open to everyone and will outline the ways in which the LCR Copyright Office can assist in planning course materials, including images and video.

The workshops will cover:

  • Purchase of Ares copyright management software and the centralization of copyright clearance and payment
  • Use of images and charts under new fair dealing exception
  • Use of cinematographic works in a class

The one-hour workshops will be held in the Teaching and Learning Centre (BI 587).

Wed., Aug. 29     (Noon – 1 p.m.)
Thurs., Sept. 6    (11 a.m. – noon)
Thurs., Sept.       (1 p.m. – 2 p.m.)
Wed., Sept. 19    (11 a.m. – noon)
