Shelly-Ann Douse joins University of Calgary Medical Group

The Cumming School of Medicine (CSM) is pleased to announce Shelly-Ann Douse’s appointment as manager, University of Calgary Medical Group (UCMG). Her appointment took effect Feb. 25.

Shelly-Ann comes to the CSM from within the University of Calgary, having spent four years as a Senior Compliance Officer with Research Services. She’s a designated accountant with over 15 years of experience in financial reporting, budgeting, audit and compliance.

 

In her previous role, Shelly-Ann was responsible for report writing, financial reporting, budget development, risk mitigation and process review. She reviewed a range of research grant proposals, ensuring compliance with funder and UCalgary policies. Funding partners for these grants included the Canada Foundation for Innovation, Genome Canada, Western Economic Diversification and Alberta Economic Development and Trade, totalling more than $195 million per year.

Shelly-Ann completed a Master of Business Administration from UCalgary’s Haskayne School of Business this past year while working full-time.

UCMG is a group of academic physicians committed to excellence in teaching, research and clinical work. Consisting of more than 670 members, UCMG has contributed to improving the health of Calgarians and southern Albertans since 1987.
