Nursing doctoral students receive awards from Canadian Nurses Foundation

Two UCalgary Nursing doctoral students have been selected as Canadian Nurses Foundation’s (CNF) 2021-2022 award recipients.Katie Webber and Jelena Komanchuk will both receive $10,000 Merck Canada Doctoral Nursing Awards and will use the phrase CNF Scholar when describing their work and achievements.

Webber’s work focuses on relational complexity between nurses and families in paediatric oncology while Komanchuk ‘s research supports the health and development of vulnerable children. 

The Canadian Nurses Foundation (CNF) advances the nursing profession in Canada through study awards and research grants for many levels of nursing. An award from CNF demonstrates confidence in a student’s academic abilities and potential to make a valuable contribution to the nursing profession in Canada.
