Holiday Message from Dr. Tara Beattie, Associate Dean, Graduate Science Education

Again, this year has been incredibly busy for everyone in the GSE office. We have launched a number of new initiative including mental health and wellness support, professional skills boot camps and we held our undergraduate recruitment drive for the second year.

Over this year our students have also been very busy and successful.  A number of our students and supervisors and even our support staff were recognized in the GSA Award Recognition event on.  Our success in both the Izaak Walton Killam and Vanier CIHR Scholarship competitions continues as we welcomed another batch of winners in both competitions.

I would like to thank all of the students and faculty who have participated in the numerous initiatives that we have supported throughout the year.  Your support and dedication to ensuring that we have the engagement of faculty and students is important to enhance our student experience and meet the goals of the Cumming School of Medicine and Eyes High Initiatives.

There are many amazing things to come in 2019, so we hope that you are able to take some time to relax, decompress, sleep, and enjoy your family, friends and loved ones in preparation for another busy year.

For me and the staff at the Graduate Science Office we wish you a Happy Holiday and Restful New Year!  See you in January.

Dr. Tara Beattie, Associate Dean, Graduate Science Education, Cumming School of Medicine
