Calgary Portfolio Management Trust (CPMT)

The Canadian Centre for Advanced Leadership in Business (CCAL) supports an ethical leadership fellowship position for the Calgary Portfolio Management Trust (CPMT) initiative

The Calgary Portfolio Management Trust initiative at the Haskayne School of Business, provides a training ground for some of Canada’s top finance students. This innovative two year program is generously supported by the Calgary Chartered Financial Analyst Society. Managing a $380,000 Canadian equity portfolio; students obtain one finance half course credit and gain valuable knowledge and skills in equity research, spreadsheet modeling, database management, portfolio tracking, teamwork, public relations, and investment skills.

"What makes the CPMT unique is that it’s the only program at the University where you get a hands on learning experience managing a real money equity portfolio. This has provided me with a platform to apply valuation and portfolio management methodologies gained in core Finance courses. The CPMT also equips members with the adequate technical knowledge, work ethic, attention to detail, and presentation skills required to succeed within a role in Capital Markets”.

Michael Robinson, as fellow helped teach ethical leadership to students involved in the trust carry out research into investment management.
