AIM-HI Network Undergraduate Summer Student Stipend

The AIM-HI Network Undergraduate Summer Student Stipend will provide funding to support First Nations, Métis and Inuit students engaging in health sciences research during the summer months (May-August) in an environment that provides strong mentorship.

Undergraduate Stipend: At a Glance


A total amount of $56,000 is available to fund 8 students at a total of $1,750 monthly per student for a duration of two, three or four months between May and August

Note: A total of TWO four month awards will be provided specifically to students in the Faculty of Health Sciences at the University of Lethbridge.


Self-identified First Nations, Métis, and Inuit students enrolled full-time in an undergraduate (bachelor's) degree program at any post-secondary academic institution in Canada

Supervisor & Research Project

Conducting a summer research project related to health (any discipline and methodology) supervised by a qualified faculty member at a post-secondary academic institution in Alberta who has sufficient funding to support the proposed research

Description of Project

Describe the objectives of your project, your proposed methods, and the expected outcomes of the research.

Maximum 200 words; to be completed by the student

Student Role/Activites

Provide a description of what role you will have in the project, and how the project will contribute to your skill development and advance your professional goals.

Maximum 200 words; to be completed by the student

Training Environment

Description of training environment/resources available to the student, and mentorship plan – provide details on the lab activities, resources and how the student will benefit from participation in the research project.

Maximum 200 words; to be completed, dated and signed by the supervisor on Academic letterhead
