Map and Airphoto Collection
Circulation Policy

- In-house Use: Maps and airphotos may be used by anyone within the Library. With permission of staff, materials may be taken for photocopying within the Library.
- Borrowing: Borrowers must have a valid library card.
- Map Borrower Card: Users from the external community must also purchase a "Map Borrower" card. The external community is defined in the Library's Access Policies - it includes those with community
user cards or alumni cards.
The fee for this card is $30.00 per month or $300.00 per year, with each starting from the date of purchase. Library cards and map borrower cards may be purchased from the Circulation Desk on the first floor, MacKimmie Library Block.
- Sign-out and Return: Cartographic material must be signed out from, and returned directly to the Map Office during regular open hours.
- Sign-out Period: Most cartographic material may be signed out for a two week period. The following are exceptions to this:
- Canadian topographic maps (to be used only in library)
- Atlases (library only except by special permission)
- Some restricted Calgary airphotos (2 day loan only)
- Renewals: Material may be renewed once by phone (220-8132), but must be brought in for
any subsequent renewal.
- Limits: 10 maps and/or 50 air photos at one time.
