SECTION 1: INTRODUCTION

1.1 The official documents pertaining to academic staff in Information Resources are the Agreement Between the Governors of the University of Calgary and the University of Calgary Faculty Association (pdf format) (TUCFA), Procedures Pertaining to Appointment, Promotion and Tenure of Academic Staff as established and approved by The General Faculties Council and The Board of Governors (pdf format) (APT Manual), and the Manual of Policies and Procedures for the Annual Assessment of Academic Staff (Salary Increments and Promotions) (pdf format) (GPC Manual).

1.2 Refer to the list of Important Documentation at the back for other relevant documents.

1.3 This Handbook sets out Information Resources practices and procedures established under the authority of the above mentioned documents as well as certain Information Resources policies and procedures under the authority of the Director of Information Resources or Library Council. In cases of dispute, the official documents are those listed in Section 1.1.

1.4 The Director of Information Resources shall provide a copy of the Handbook to each academic appointee in Information Resources.
