Canadian author Shirlee Smith Matheson was born in Winnipeg, Manitoba, on October 16, 1943. Biographical information available in The literary history of Alberta, v. 2, p. 114 and 164; Who's who in The Writers' Union of Canada, 1993, p. 208; and Writers of the Okanagan Mainline, p. 281-284.
Fonds consist of correspondence; manuscripts of poetry, short stories, stage plays, articles, columns, young adult fiction and adult non-fiction; audio tapes of interviews; and material relating to readings, workshops, adjudication and other professional activities.
Includes ca 1650 photographs; ca 275 slides; 106 sound recordings; 1 videocassette; and ca 0.32 m of realia including stuffed toys, garden gloves, nametags and buttons.
Donated by Shirlee Smith Matheson in 2000 and 2005.
