- J.Day set up listserves for us to use.
- itscash-l is for our cashdaily
report that runs daily.
- itscirc-l is for the statforcirc monthly report.
- onshelfholdslist-l is for the OnshelfHoldsList1st that runs daily Monday
through Friday, and the OnshelfHoldsList1stSatSun report that runs on Saturday
and Sunday morning.
- cleanholdshelf-l is for the daily cleanholdshelf report.
The email address to use is the mailing list name, then @mailman.ucalgary.ca.,
e.g.,
onshelfholdslist-l@mailman.ucalgary.ca.
- Steps to add someone:
- go to mailman.ucalgary.ca
- enter the list name, including the '-L' and click on the radio
button that says 'Admin', then click on submit. This will take you to
the mailing list administration page.
- Enter the password (same for all), and then click on 'let me in' or press enter.
- You will now see a bunch of options come up, click on
'Membership management' and then Mass subscription.
- Now just add the person's userid, including @ucalgary.ca or
whatever domain it is. (Any valid email address can be on the list.)
- After the name has been typed in, scroll down to the bottom and
click on 'submit your changes'.
- Anytime you want to see who is on the list, under membership
management, click on membership list.
- Another way to add a person to the list is to tell the
person to go to the
subscription page for the mailing list and enter the information. Then David, Mary Jane
or Nella would have to go in and approve the addition.
- Vacation time and what to do about changes to who gets
notification....
- If someone is away, even for an extended period, it is easier to go
into the Membership List and tick the "nomail" box. When the person
returns, remove the tick. This is easier than removing the names of
folks on vacation.
