Rename the P170 to neter (Kin)

Get neter upgraded - upgrade memory, add external disk and ethernet card (Joseph/Kin)

Do an lscfg (Linda)

Nut is 136.159.235.209

Neter is 136.159.235.227 but will change to nut's on April 1

Set up filesystems to match nut (Kin)

Get neter’s IP address from Kin but THIS WILL CHANGE (LP)

Message to allir-m re scheduling and plans: Tell them to use neter when osiris is down. Nut will move to neter after April 1. (LP)

Move all data from nut to neter, then all sirsi data from osiris to neter (Kin) <(home and /usr/local, for instance will be same as on nut. Nella will tar and zip /sirsi/Unicorn/Work, .../Bincustom, ../Rptcustom and ../Develop, OR just load them back from nut to neter before nut disabled)

Make sure brssearch and brsvalid are in /usr/lib on neter (LP)

Initialize everything on neter, start servers but DO NOT START REPORT SERVER until suspending most reports. Do some searches (LP)

Do an lscfg (LP) if it works

Change pins of all STAFF so they are alerted to the fact they are working on test server:

$ seluser -p"LIBSTAFF" -Q"~ADMIN" -oKBA > userstochange.ndl

one can ensure that only staff logins are in this final file by looking through it. Now change ALL these pins to something that has the word test in it but can't be guessed by a hacker:

$ cat userstochange.ndl | edituser -R"ARTEST" > usersnewpin.ndl

and send Sirsi Management Team and Catalog Working Group a note telling them to get everyone to change their pins themselves to something test-like

Ask Teamheads test and report back (LP)

Dan Clark (4469) or Tu switches DNS alias so that nut and neter both point to neter

Ask Dan Clark to change nut to oldnut, GIVING NETER THE I.P. THAT NUT HAD. I have to be sure we can still get at nut some way or other. (LP)

Watch monitor and uptime on neter (LP)

Email allir-m to begin using the new system for testing and training (LP)

Ask IT (Angus) to switch over regular ops to neter: backups, halt-and-runs, aix reboots (LP)

Ask Steamheads who wants WorkFlows (LP)

Install Multiflows? Nella is testing ways that we can have machines with both Test and Production WorkFlows running at once

THINGS TO WATCH FOR

Remember the admin PIN (and all PINS) come from production not test

Remember the active crontab comes over. Make sure some things are commented out.

The passwd.queue file needs to be reinitialized by IT

Suspend reports that you don't want running

Watch for file permission problems.

Watch for C compiler problems.

Watch for pci problems, including the pci script for start_httpd that uses the hostname as part of the path to start the Netscape webserver

Lots of steps to make sure webcat points to the new machine:

change homepage setting in Opac Manager under Gateways

change /Webcat/Config/system.env HTTP_ADDRESS

change files in Webcat/Pages_custom/Default that refer to the other server. e.g. 54.pg, 54.pg, top.h, bclav.html, etc.

change /usr/local/etc/httpd/htdocs/index.html

change /usr/local/etc/httpd/cgi-bin/webcat
