UNICORN STATISTICS AND REPORTS AT UNIV. OF CALGARY LIBRARY
Apart from some very sophisticated local custom reports that we have
developed, Unicorn is delivered with many existing statistical capabilities.
We can easily get statistics on the size of the database at any given time.
We also keep Excel spreadsheets of the number of overdues and recalls done
in circulation.
Individual staff members and librarians frequently submit statistics requests
that are different every time.
E.g.
All order cancellations with certain cancel reasons and cancel dates
All AINA current subscriptions with brief list of tags and holdings records
on diskette in call number order and in title order
All titles in the call number range U1-897 purchased
since April 29 196
MEDICAL LIBRARY for ACMC:
Number of monographic titles in collection at end of fiscal year
Number of monographic titles added during the fiscal year
Total circulation and use of the Medical library's collections
Please do NOT think that the information below is in any way an
indication of all you can get - it's just a sample of what you
can get for statistics from Unicorn.

1. INVLIST report
Produces a shelflist printout
Criteria
Catalog characteristics:
# Copies on order, # title holds, Date cataloged,
Date created, Publication year, etc. etc.
Call number characteristics:
# copies, Bound-with, Call number range, Class scheme, etc.
Item characteristics:
# of bills, # of charges, # of copy holds, Available on hold,
Date last charged, Home loc'n, Itemcat1, Itemcat2, etc.
Sort by: Call number, Item ID, or Title/author
Format: more or less catalog information as desired.

2. Fundorderlst report
Produces a list of funded order and title info by account#
Only works on orders keyed since April 29/96
Criteria:
Primary grouping:
By account #, fundID, fundlevel1, fundlevel2...
Secondary grouping:
By account #, fundID, fundlevel1, fundlevel2...
Fund characteristics:
# cycles, account #, extended info, level1...
Order characteristics:
# copies cancelled, claimed, invoiced, paid, etc.
Amount funded, invoiced, ordered
Date created, mailed, modified, ready, to cancel...
Extended info, fiscal cycles, total amount paid, type
Orderline characteristics:
# copies, # copies cancelled, claimed, delivered, funded, invoiced,
loaded, paid
Exchange rate, extended info, multiple parts, Discount, etc. etc.
Funding characteristics:
# copies, copies invoiced, paid, received
Amount encumbered, invoiced, paid vend currency
Date paid, direct pay, percent, total amt paid
Total unextended amount, type, etc. etc.
Sort by: Amount, Order ID, Title

Item characteristics:
# bills, # charges, # copy holds, Avail. on hold, Date last charged,
Home location, Itemcat1, Itemcat2, item type, Comments,
Current location, Date created, Price,etc

OTHER REPORTS AND STATISTICS
billyrend Gives total amount owed by users for selected time periods,
and Grand Total for all users listed.
cancelnativsum Extracts total Amount for serial cancellations during
the past year
yeserconttitle Based on fundorderlist - select by fund, level one
serial, level two continuation, sort by title - get list of
all c/o's for a given fund and probably a given fiscal cycle.
UNICORN CUSTOM REPORTS WRITTEN AT THE UNIVERSITY OF CALGARY
billassesbal Used monthly to derive the Accounts Receivable figure
for the previous month regardless of REMOVE USER transactions.
i.e. HOW MUCH WAS BILLED?
Can also be used to give system-wide outstanding balance.
Will give bills including deleted users over a time period,
but doesn't allow user selection.
billbalance Grand Total of all moneys owing, outstanding balance.
Allows user selection.
billusersum Based on billlist, summarizes total amount owed by users i
per bill/user criteria
cashbyws cash report grouped by workstations in each branch
currstandord Produces excel file or info about current standing orders.
fundcircstat Produces stats based on info in the order record, the
bibliographic record, and the circulation history
fundsummary Can report by fiscal cycle, sum all records for all
fiscal cycles for an account number
bibrecsnoitem- list of all bibliographic records with zero item records
chrgitemuser - allows charge, item, user, callnum, catalog
