To continue to enhance and protect the university’s IT environment, a critical outage is required this weekend:
Campus-wide outage – Thanksgiving weekend
Most IT services will be impacted by this campus-wide outage taking place Friday, October 7 starting at 5:30 p.m. until Sunday, October 9 at 11:59 p.m. Users should begin to see some services returning Saturday, October 8 at approximately 9:00 p.m. IT teams will continue work Sunday during the remainder of the outage window.
Our IT Support Centre will also be available at 403-220-5555 and email@example.com Saturday, October 8 to Monday, October 10 from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
Systems that will be available include:
- Desire2Learn (D2L) - Please note there is a regular maintenance window scheduled. D2L will be unavailable from Saturday, October 8 starting at 11:00pm until Sunday, October 9 at 5:00am.
- Office 365 email
- PeopleSoft, with the exception of student admissions and Degree Navigator.
- My.ucalgary.ca portal
- Wired and wireless Internet access
- VoIP phones
- Security infrastructure, including door access and security cameras – Please note the Working Alone system will not be available. During the outage, please feel free to contact Campus Security Operations Centre at 403-220-5333 to register by telephone.
Users can refer to the @ucalgary Twitter account to be notified when work is complete and IT services are available again.
We recommend that you save your files and log out of any IT services before the outage begins.
