NTU's unique summer programme will bring you an unforgettable summer education. Choose from 5 different tracks and experience a unique summer unlike any other!
Spend 4-6 weeks studying at one of the world's top universities (#11 globally, QS 2020). Nanyang Technological University is recognized internationally for cutting-edge technological research, and its courses on technical innovation are led by some of the topmost experts in the field.
Singapore is known for its multicultural cuisine, as well as being one of the world's safest cities. With English as one of its four official languages, it is an easy and comfortable city in which to live and the perfect base from which to explore Asia. NTU offers several course tracks in different areas. The following tracks are offered each year:
Track 1: Language & Cultural Studies - courses focus on Chinese & Malay language/culture
Track 2: Entrepreneurship & Innovation - courses focus on entrepreneurship
Track 3: Creative Design & Media - courses focus on fine art, communications, media, film studies, political science
Track 4: Success in the Globalised Marketplace - courses focus on marketing, accounting, management, cultural intelligence, leadership, communication, finance, visual data
Track 5: New Technologies, New World - courses focus on bioprinting, 3D printing, cyber security, data science, AI

Students are allowed to take 2 courses within a single track or by mixing-and-matching across multiple tracks, as long as there are no timetable conflicts. 3 AU credits at NTU is equivalent to 3 credits units at UCalgary (1 x 3 AU course = 1 x 3 credit UCalgary course).
Haskayne Students: A Haskayne Specific Exchange is available at Nanyang. Review your course selection with a Haskayne exchange advisor before your exchange commences to confirm transfer credit. Find your Haskayne exchange advisor online.
Student Experience: "The 3D printing facilities are incredible and the two professors teaching the [bioprinting] course (whom also write the textbook) are two of the most published in the entire world. I would definitely recommend it to any engineering student."
The dates for 2027 will be announced by December 2026.
Most courses run for 4 weeks. However, courses in Track 2 run for 2 weeks.

Costs
Exchange students pay their tuition for 2 UCalgary courses and relevant academic fees to the University of Calgary. Other expenses are paid directly to the service provider.
For 2026, the summer program registration fee (153 SGD), administration fee (917 SGD), accommodation (roughly $1300 SGD), plus airfare, local transit, insurance, vaccinations, visas, meals, and any personal expenses.
There is also a fee-paying option for this program.

Funding
Did you know that you can take your UCalgary funding with you on exchange?
Since you remain a degree seeking student at UCalgary while on exchange you remain eligible for any awards and scholarships you are eligible to receive from the university as well as student loans.Our office administers several awards, including the Global Access Fund and the Global Learning Award. Students may only receive these awards once. Please see the funding page, linked below, for more information.
Summer program students will live in residence, in an air conditioned, twin-sharing room arrangement. Meals are not included, but there are several residence canteens and food vendors around campus for students to purchase their meals from. Kitchen facilities are not available.
The campus spreads across 500 acres of lush, green tropical gardens and innovative building structures.
Rooms are furnished with a bed, mattress, study table, chair, wardrobe, bookshelf and bulletin board (to pin notes, etc). Each room is fitted with window coverings such as blinds or curtains, lighting and a fan. There are phone jacks and Ethernet connections in each room. You have to bring or buy your own LAN cable for wired LAN connection in the rooms. WIFI is available at the common areas in the halls of residence. Other fittings may be provided and these vary from hall to hall.
Note: Bed‐linen, blankets and pillows will NOT be provided. Students will have to purchase their own bed‐linen, pillows and blankets when they arrive in NTU. Refer to this suggested packing list.
Suggested items to bring/buy:
- Shower tote bucket
- Toiletries
- Towels, washcloths (recommended 2 sets)
- Shower shoes
- Single‐size bed sheets/linen, blanket, pillow, pillow cases
- Laundry bag, detergent
- Clothes hangers and pegs
- Laptop, with internet Cable or pocket router
- Padlocks
This exchange is open to regular, full-time students in any faculty at UCalgary, who have completed at least 1 full year (10 courses) at the post-secondary level, with a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5.
Haskayne Students: There are additional eligibility requirements – see the Haskayne Outgoing Exchange Students page for details. When applying in the online application portal, be sure to select the Haskayne version of this exchange. If you do not meet the eligibility requirements, contact your Haskayne exchange advisor to discuss.
If you plan to travel on a passport from an Assessment Level 1 or 2 country according to the Singapore visa assessment, we recommend to look at programs outside of Singapore. If you are a citizen of Singapore, you will not be eligible for Singapore exchange programs.
