University of Calgary Honour Song
Elder Rod Hunter from Stoney Nakoda, Bearspaw First Nation tells the origins of UCalgary’s Honour Song, which he gifted to the university in 2018. The University of Calgary is grateful to work with Traditional Knowledge Keepers from different nations across Southern Alberta, who have gifted the institution with key cultural items. These gifts allow us to incorporate Indigenous Ways of Knowing and doing into teaching, learning and events on campus.

These events support ii’ taa’poh’to’p’s vision of transforming ways of knowing, doing, connecting and being at UCalgary, and is a direct response to the Truth and Reconciliation Commission’s Calls to Action.
