Program details: The Falling Walls Lab is an international forum for the next generation of outstanding innovators and creative thinkers.
Its aim is to promote exceptional ideas and to connect promising scientists and entrepreneurs from all fields on a global level. Participants get the opportunity to present their research work, business model, or initiative to peers, a high-calibre jury made up of experts from academia and business, and the general public - in 3 minutes each.
Initiated in 2018, the University of Calgary's Hunter Hub for Entrepreneurial Thinking presented the first installment of Falling Walls Lab UCalgary to campus as an annual pitch competition to hear breakthrough ideas from students across various faculties, staff, faculty, alumni, and community members.
In 2019, fifteen applicants were selected to participate in the UCalgary Semi-Finals. Two finalists represented the University of Calgary at the global lab and conference in Berlin.
