What is UCalgary Tech Bytes?

Tech Bytes connects students with industry professionals within Calgary’s tech sector through interactive and engaging 1-2 hour sessions. Students can engage directly with our industry partners to learn about their company culture, the work they do, and the diverse roles within their organizations. This is a great opportunity to establish meaningful connections and get your questions answered.

How to participate:

  2. Add a reminder to your calendar for those events you wish to join

  3. When your events are scheduled to start, visit the Tech Bytes webpage to access them

Please note that events may end early, so try your best to arrive at the start of the session.

Join us in playing “Among Us”, an online multiplayer social deduction game. While playing, we will answer all your Absorb and otherwise related questions. Please join this Zoom room and ensure you have downloaded the game. This can be done through your phone (Free App) or purchase on Steam.

Critical Mass

This hands-on workshop will allow you to practice your skills while learning what the life of a developer at a marketing agency is like. Get your front-end hats on as a technology pro from Critical Mass supports you in using HTML, CSS ,and JavaScript to build a React application. Note: Critical Mass will be working within CodeSandbox, so please have a Github account ready if you'd like to follow along.

Tech Fest invites post-secondary students citywide to connect with Calgary’s tech sector during a virtual conference featuring industry networking, hands-on learning activities, and inspiring talks from community leaders who are re-shaping the landscape of economic opportunity in our city.
