Socio-Cultural Studies of Sport, Physical Activity, and the Body My general area of research is socio-cultural studies of sport, physical activity, and the body. I have particular interests in studying sex, gender, and sexuality in sport and the larger social context, bullying and sport, and sport-related pain, injury, and endurance. I am a qualitative researcher, with experience in a wide variety of qualitative methods. Theoretically my work is largely informed by the philosophies of Michel Foucault as well as poststructuralist theories of sex, gender, and sexuality.
