Puppetronics Exhibit
Dr. Stuart Walker and Professor Loraine Dearstyne Fowiow recently completed the design of an interactive children's exhibit for the Alberta Children's Museum. The exhibit, called Puppetronics, ran at the Glenbow Museum through the summer and attracted 20,000 visitors. Based upon a puppet theme, the exhibit featured the life-size marionettes of New York puppeteer Ronnie Asbell and allowed children to explore different types of puppets and puppet theatre. The 1,200sq.foot exhibit also featured a hand puppet theatre, a shadow theatre, Indonesian shadow puppets and the marionettes of Calgary puppeteer Ronnie Burkett. The exhibit was enthusiastically received and a good time was had by all.
