Have you demonstrated outstanding leadership at UCalgary?

The 3M National Student Fellowship honours up to ten full-time diploma and undergraduate students at Canadian post-secondary institutions who have demonstrated visionary leadership and innovation through seeing current needs in higher education or society and implementing change. 

What awardees receive

Recipients will become 3M National Student Fellows (see expectations for Fellows) and receive recognition at the annual Society for Teaching and Learning in Higher Education (STLHE) conference in June — as well as STLHE membership for two years, conference registration, travel to the conference and accommodations.

Each recipient will also receive an award of $2,000 to be spent at their discretion.

As part of the submission requirements, applicants must include a statement from the Vice-Provost (Student Experience). After completing the nomination package, they should email it as a single PDF file, strictly following the application procedure and file naming protocol outlined by 3M, to the Office of the Vice-Provost (Student Experience) at vpse@ucalgary.ca. The deadline is 4 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 23, 2024.

Packages submitted by this deadline will be returned to the applicants by Friday, Jan. 26, 2024 so they can submit their entire packages as directed on the STLHE website on or before the deadline of Wednesday, Jan. 31, 2024.
