Volunteer as an "Ask Me Volunteer" at Orientation!
Ask Me Volunteers play a key role in helping Orientation run smoothly. They assist with everything from event set-up and take-down to wayfinding and activity facilitation—including supporting the vibrant UCalgaryStrong Carnival.
What is an Orientation Leader?
Orientation Leaders guide incoming students through their transition and integration to the university community during Orientation, providing them with essential program-specific insights, and academic and campus resource information. Orientation Leaders provide leadership to groups of 15 new students during orientation activities!

What to Expect:
- Shifts available throughout the day on August 27 & 28, 2026
- Roles include:
- Greeting and welcoming attendees
- Supporting registration
- Helping with activities
- Behind-the-scenes logistics
- Providing wayfinding and general info
- Once you’ve submitted your application, you’ll hear from us during the week of July 27 to sign up for specific shifts.
*Please note OLs must be registered as returning Undergraduate students in the Fall 2026 term, cannot be registered in a Fall block Week course, and must be available for two in-person training days during Fall Block Week and the full two days of Orientation on August 27 and 28, 2026.
