Fully Vaccinated Students

Travellers arriving to Canada by air, as of July 5, 2021, that are fully vaccinated who are permitted to enter Canada will not be subject to the federal requirement to quarantine or take a COVID-19 test on day-8. To be considered fully vaccinated, a traveller must have received the full series of a vaccine — or combination of vaccines — accepted by the Government of Canada at least 14 days prior to entering Canada. In addition, fully vaccinated travellers arriving by air will not be required to stay at a government-authorized hotel. More info

Residents that are exempt from quarantine are still required to apply for quarantine with residence. All international students must prove they have a quarantine plan at the boarder. Residents that do not need to quarantine will be able to move into residence and will not be charge for their early arrival.

Non Fully Vaccinated Students

Will be required to take a COVID-19 molecular test when they arrive in Canada before exiting the airport, and another toward the end of their 14-day quarantine period. Air travellers landing in Canada will be required to quarantine in a government approved hotel for 3-days at their own expense.

You must provide proof of a negative COVID-19 molecular test taken within 72 hours before your scheduled departure time. You will also be required to:

  • Take a COVID-19 molecular test on arrival in Canada
  • Stay in a government approved hotel for 3 nights while you await the results of the COVID-19 molecular test you received on arrival
  • Pay for your hotel, as well as all associated costs for food, cleaning, and security

You will be able to complete the remainder of your quarantine in a designated quarantine unit on-campus once you have tested negative and are allowed to leave your 3-night hotel quarantine.
