Self Isolation

Quarantine & Self Isolation

as of April 12, 2022

All students moving into residence arriving from outside of Canada for the Spring/Summer 2022 term, MUST fill out a quarantine request form, even if they are exempt from quarantine.

Apply for Quarantine

To book a quarantine unit with Residence, please complete the Quarantine Request - International Arrivals request form by logging into your Resident Portal and clicking on the Forms tab.

  1. Fully Vaccinated Students

Travelers arriving to Canada by air or land, that are fully vaccinated who are permitted to enter Canada will not be subject to the federal requirement to quarantine. To be considered fully vaccinated, a traveler must have received the full series of a vaccine — or combination of vaccines — accepted by the Government of Canada at least 14 days prior to entering Canada. More info

Effective November 30, 2021, Canada will expand the list of COVID-19 vaccines that travelers can receive to be considered fully vaccinated for the purpose of travel to Canada. The list will include Sinopharm, Sinovac and COVAXIN, matching the World Health Organization Emergency Use Listing.

You must provide proof of a negative COVID-19 molecular test taken within 72 hours before your scheduled departure time. You will also be required to take a COVID-19 molecular test on arrival in Canada

Residents that are exempt from quarantine are still required to apply for quarantine with residence. All international students must prove they have a quarantine plan at the border. Residents that do not need to quarantine will be able to move into residence.

  2. Non Fully Vaccinated Students

If you’re a foreign national permitted entry into Canada without qualifying as fully vaccinated, you may take a connecting flight within Canada that is scheduled to depart within 24 hours of the departure time for your flight to Canada. Foreign nationals authorized entry into Canada can continue to their final destination using their valid pre-entry molecular test as long as the scheduled departure time of their domestic flight is within 24 hours of the departure time for their flight to Canada.

If you are required to quaranteen when you arrive, you will be required to complete your 14-day quarantine off campus unless you are under the age of 18.

More information for non fully vaccinated students with Canadian approved vaccines.
