What is Alumni Weekend?
Alumni Weekend is a three-day event filled with mind-growing activities and family-friendly fun. Whether you’re looking to learn about the latest UCalgary research discoveries and breakthroughs; connect with friends, former classmates and fellow alumni; or play the weekend away, Alumni Weekend has something for everybody.
Can only UCalgary grads attend Alumni Weekend?
No — everyone is welcome. Bring your family and friends for a fun weekend where you’ll learn with mind-growing activities, connect with old friends and meet new ones, and play the weekend away with family-friendly fun. Check out our Sessions page for a full listing of events, and look for those labelled “family-friendly.”
Where can I learn more about Alumni Weekend?
How much does Alumni Weekend cost?
The majority of Alumni Weekend sessions are free! A few signature events – like the Gandhi Today: Finding Peace in the Modern World, Peer Review Live: Going for Gold panel discussion and Dinos football game – have a small fee attached. During the weekend, you may also want to make purchases from cash bars, The Den, food trucks and the market in TD Park.
Can you accommodate special accessibility requirements?
We want you to have as few obstacles as possible and to be able to participate in all activities. Please fill out the “Accessibility requirements” section of the registration process so we can meet your needs, or contact the Alumni Weekend team directly by emailing email@example.com or by calling 403.220.8500 or 1.877.220.8509 (North America toll-free).
What is the attire for Alumni Weekend?
Attire for most of the weekend is casual, although some faculty events have defined dress codes. This will be clearly listed in the session description. We recommend that you wear comfortable clothes and shoes and dress for the weather as some activities – like the Dinos game, campus tours and TD Park – are outdoor events.
Do I have to register in advance?
Yes, we recommend that you register online in advance of Alumni Weekend to guarantee your seats for the learning, experiential and faculty-based events. Watch for registration to open in late June. Alumni Weekend will also offer a variety of DIY activities like self-guided tours and family-friendly fun that do not require advanced registration.
How will I know my registration has been received and processed?
After registering online, you’ll receive a confirmation email with important information and a detailed itinerary of the events and activities that you have registered for. If you do not receive your confirmation email, please check your Junk folder and then contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
How do I make changes to my registration?
Contact us by emailing email@example.com or by calling 403.220.8500 or 1.877.220.8509 (North America toll-free), and we’ll update your Alumni Weekend schedule.
When is the registration deadline?
Online registration closes at midnight on Sept. 18. We encourage you to register in advance to guarantee your spots to the learning, connecting and playing sessions. But don’t worry, if you miss the deadline you can register on-site at Alumni Weekend for any sessions that have not sold out.
What if my plans change and I need to cancel my registration?
You can get a full refund up until Sept. 19 by submitted a request in writing by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org. As of Sept. 20, cancellations and missed events are non-refundable.
Can I pay cash or credit card for events at Alumni Weekend if I do not pre-register?
We encourage you to register online no later than Sept. 19 to guarantee your spot; however, you’ll be able to register and pay with cash or credit card for sessions that still have space Saturday morning at TD Park, the central hub for Alumni Weekend.
Where and at what time can I pick up my registration materials on the day(s) of the event?
You can pick up your event registration materials any time on Saturday or Sunday at TD Park check-in table. The registration table will open at 9 a.m. both days.

Transportation, Parking, and Accommodation
Where can I park?
You can park for free on-campus during Alumni Weekend in the Art Parkade. Also visit the Getting Here page for more information on your various transportation options, including public transit, cycling and ride-sharing and an Alumni Weekend-exclusive Uber discount code.
How do I get to and from events or sessions on campus?
This year, all of the sessions and events are held in central locations on campus, which makes it very easy to get around on foot. Please note that there will not be a shuttle service available.
If I am coming in from out of town, where can I stay?
