The AI Research School
The AI Research School (AIRS) is a online program hosted at the University of Calgary that aims to encourage equity deserving groups in computing research to pursue graduate studies and research careers in AI.
Mission: To train those interested in using AI for addressing challenges in various domains through open, online, and free instruction and mentorship.
Vision: To prepare the next generation of researchers and practitioners who lead AI research and its applications.
Through this program, students have the opportunity to:
- Learn about AI and different branches of AI research
- Have the opportunity to participate in an AI research project
- Interact with current highly successful graduate students and postdocs from underrepresented groups who utilize AI for their research
- Gain mentorship from academia and industry researchers
- Plan for or develop a strong application for graduate school
