Post Doctoral Fellow, Department of Chemical and Petroleum Engineering
Background: Dr. sc. ETH Zurich (Chemical Engineering and Catalysis)
Research interests:
During my doctorate study at the Paul Scherrer Institute (PSI) in Switzerland I focused on the production of synthetic natural gas (SNG) from biomass. The aim of my scientific work was to understand the processes within the fluidized bed methanation reactor, by applying different methods including both experiments and modeling.
Here at the University of Calgary, I concentrate on the gasification of biomass, waste, fossil fuels, and mixtures of these. The goal is the development of an improved catalytic gasification process, which reduces carbon footprint, plant cost, and further allows a cost effective CO2 sequestration. The focus of my work is the kinetic investigation of the
gasification reactions involved by means of a high pressure thermogravimetric analysis (TGA) unit.
