2020:  Harvey has won yet another award to decorate his wall of fame!  SPE 2020 Award for Technical Excellence & Achievement.
 

September, 2016:  It is with great sadness that we have lost our dear friend, Marco Satyro. Marco will always be remembered for his thermodynamic brilliance, teaching aptitude, sharp wit, big smiles and smothering hugs. 

April, 2016:  The Schulich School of Engineering released two new videos! Yes, two videos!! On the first one, Harvey and his research group are on spotlight; on the second one Harvey and three of our grad students make an appearance on the department video on the IRCs in energy research!  Click here for the video.  And here's an IRC video on Energy Innovation where we get a cameo.

September, 2014:  Harvey received recognition, and a great coffee mug, at the University's "Great Supervisor Award."   He is hiding in the below photo (far left side) of all the recipients.

May, 2012:  The AER emulsion & characterization lab has moved into the new EEEL building, room 567.

August, 2011:  The AER PVT laboratory has moved into the new Environment, Energy and Experiential Learning (EEEL) building, room 433.

May, 2011:  Dr. Harvey Yarranton was interviewed by Marketplace Public Radio (Washington DC).

July, 2010:  Dr. Harvey Yarranton and his research are mentioned in the article "Oilsands versus Offshore," in Business In Calgary magazine, July 2010 issue (pages 12-14).  Here is the pdf version of the article.

June 3, 2010:  Dr. Harvey Yarranton was interviewed for HeavyOilInfo.com, an online newsletter from Schlumberger.  His research was reported in a feature article.  A copy of this article is available here.

May 25, 2010:  Film crews from Korean public broadcast TV interviewed Dr. Harvey Yarranton. Harvey explained how the oil sands are extracted and treated.  Release in Korea is July, 2010.  Stay tuned as we try to get the link to this show!

May 9, 2010:  Dr. Harvey Yarranton radio interview, Calgary local station QR77 on the Alberta Weekend show.  Harvey spoke about heavy oil and bitumen research as related to his new IRC award.  They only archive their shows for 14 days, so unfortunately we can't provide a link for you.

May 7, 2010:  University of Calgary highlighted Dr. Yarranton's IRC award and research on their Research Highlights page.  Select May 2010.

May 7, 2010:  Dr. Harvey Yarranton, on his award of an IRC position, was presented with a plaque and many words of praise from his sponsors and NSERC.  This event was held at the Calgary Petroleum Club and was attended by our sponsors, NSERC, Schulich School of Engineering, members of the industry community, and AER group members past and present.  See the pictures in the Photo Gallery.
