Dr. Katta completed her Ph.D. degree (Supervisor: Dr. B.M. Reddy) at the Inorganic and Physical Chemistry Division, Indian Institute of Chemical Technology (IICT), Hyderabad, India. During PhD, her research mainly dealt with synthesis of supported and unsupported mixed oxides/solid solutions especially of ceria-based oxide materials, structural characterization using various spectroscopic and non-spectroscopic techniques, and their extensive application towards various industrially important reactions such as, CO oxidation, soot oxidation, synthesis of 4-methylpent-1-ene, and condensation reactions. After her PhD, she has been worked as postdoctoral research fellow (March 2012 to May 2013) at Department of Chemistry Physics and Environment, University of Udine, Udine, Italy (Supervisor: Professor Alessandro Trovarelli), wherein, her work focused on hydrogen purification (Water-Gas Shift reaction) for fuel cell applications utilizing novel bimetals deposited ceria-based oxide materials. Later, she worked as a visiting scholar at University of Memphis, USA till Feb 2014, working on photo- and electrocatalytic hydrogen production from water using molecular Co complexes. In seven years of research experience she has been co-authored more than 20 peer- reviewed international journals, one book, and presented her works more than ten National and International conferences. She has also been serving as reviewer for couple of journals including ACS and RSC journals. She is the recipient of several awards including Director’s Special Appreciation award as Best Senior Research Fellow-2011 (IICT, Hyderabad), Certificate of Appreciation in the peer review of manuscripts submitted to ACS Journals for the year 2011, and few work presentation awards. Her research work has been cited well with more than 300 citations. Currently, she is working as a postdoctoral fellow at Department of Chemical and Petroleum Engineering (Supervisor: Dr. Nader Mahinpey), University of Calgary, Calgary, AB, Canada. Her current research is focused on bio-oil upgrading and CO2 capture.
