Spring X Training Camp

Training for a successful XC ski season starts in the spring!  This dryland training series is designed to improve your skiing ABC's: agility, balance and coordination, as well as your ski specific strength and endurance.  Outdoor workouts will be held in Calgary parks except during extreme weather, when they will be held indoors at the U of C.  Non skiers welcome!

Loppet Masters

NEW Technique and performance is the focus of this cross-country ski course designed for alumni from the Loppet programs, or those with equivalent experience. With the help of our enthusiastic and experienced coaches, you will set goals and be motivated to improve classic technique and fitness over the course of 24 weeks. We will also have a skate ski coach for those who want that option. This is a fun, focused training and touring program in which we will try to ski in various locations—working in longer touring days when the snow is awesome. You'll have coaching support at 2 Loppets this season, which could include the Edmonton Birkebeiner, Huckleberry Loppet or the Lake Louise Loppet. Prerequisite: great for those who have previously done multiple Loppets or who have equivalent cross-country ski experience. Participants will be responsible for ski trail passes and gear. Includes: UCalgary Fitness Centre membership during program, fitness instruction, on-snow coaching. 21 x 60-90 min dryland training sessions, 11 x 1.5 hour mid-week evening ski sessions, 11 x 3 or 4 hour weekend ski days.
