STANDARD FIRST AID - CPR/AED C

Canadian Red Cross First Aid & CPR-C courses offer lifesaving first aid skills. This course also covers cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) for adults, children, and babies, as well as the use of an AED. This course meet legislation requirements for Alberta Occupational Health and Safety, and offers skills for individuals needing training for the workplace or those interested in having first aid skills so they can respond to emergencies at home.

This course will certify you in both CPR-C and Standard First Aid. If you are looking for only a CPR-C certification, you can find those courses here.

STANDARD FIRST AID - CPR/AED HCP (Health Care Provider)

Canadian Red Cross First Aid & CPR-HCP courses offer lifesaving first aid skills. This course also covers cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) for adults, children, and babies, as well as the use of an AED, all tailored to application in a medical environment. This course offers skills for individuals working in the medical field, in addition to providing first aid skills so that they can respond to emergencies at home.

The CPR-HCP certification is designed for Health Care Providers, such as physicians, nurses, and paramedics.

This course offers certification in both CPR-HCP and Standard First Aid. If you are looking for only a CPR-HCP certification, you can find our course offerings here. If you are looking for both a CPR and a Standard First Aid certification, but do not work in health care, you can find our Standard First Aid with CPR-C courses here.

This course is designed for Health Care Providers, such as physicians, nurses, and paramedics.

You must have a current CPR-C certification in order to take this course.

CPR/AED HCP - Recertification

Canadian Red Cross CPR courses offer lifesaving skills. This recertification course provides an opportunity to refresh the skills needed torecognize and respond to cardiovascular emergencies and choking for adults, children, and babies, tailored to a medical environment.

This course is designed for Health Care Providers, such as physicians, nurses, and paramedics. You must have a current CPR-HCP certification in order to take this course.

This course will recertify only your CPR-HCP certification. If you are looking to recertify both your CPR-HCP and Standard First Aid certifications, you can find our course offerings here. First Responder

Pre-hospital care and CPR skills for professional first responders or those wanting to become first responders. This course teaches techniques for sustaining life, preventing further injuries, and caring for illnesses and injuries until the next level of medical personnel arrives. Includes CPR/AED Level HCP.

Babysitting Course

This course offers basic first aid and caregiving skills for youth 11-15 years old. Participants learn how to provide care to children in a variety of age groups, and how to prevent and respond to emergencies.  The course also offers youth the skills to promote themselves as babysitters to prospective families.

Emergency Child Care First Aid

This Red Cross 8 hour course offers an overview of first aid and CPR with a focus on childhood injuries and illnesses.

The Canadian Red Cross is an OH&S approved first aid training agency.

Red Cross First Aid Instructor

First Aid and CPR Instructors support the Red Cross First Aid Program through the delivery of First Aid and CPR courses. This course provides candidates with the knowledge and skills to teach Emergency and Standard First Aid, CPR/AED, Marine Basic First Aid, and Emergency and Standard Child Care First Aid. This program is designed to prepare you to support dynamic, learner-centered classroom environments.  It includes how to teach and facilitate, individual and group assignments, practice teaching, injury prevention principles, inclusion and progressive learning.

There are 4 steps involved in the pathway to becoming a certified First Aid & CPR Instructor. You must successfully complete each step before advancing to the next step.
1) Skills Evaluation
2a) Fundamentals of Instruction Online component
2b) Fundamentals of Instruction Classroom component
3) Discipline Specific Classroom component
4) Teaching Experience

Red Cross First Aid Instructor Recertification

The Canadian Red Cross First Aid Instructor Development Programs trains and certified Instructors to organize and deliver First Aid & CPR courses. Instructors are trained to apply an individualized approach focusing on injury prevention, elarning styles and a variety of instruction techniques that consider the abiliites, ages and needs of each participant.

The course allows current Red Cross First Aid Instructors to refresh their skills and extend their certification for another 3 years.

Red Cross Teaching Experience Supervisor

Building upon their existing Instructional skills, Teaching Experience Supervisor candidates will develop the skills required to support Red Cross First Aid Instructor candidates completing their Teaching Experience across all disciplines.

There are 2 steps involved in the pathway to becoming a certified Teaching Experience Supervisor. You must successfully complete each step before advancing to the next step.
1) Skills Evaluation
2a) Fundamentals of Instruction Online (2-4 hours)
2b) Fundamentals of Instruction Classroom

Once you have completed Steps 1 and 2, you are a certified Teaching Experience Supervisor. This certificicate remains current as long as your Instructor certification is current.
