ABC Stand Up Paddleboarding Complete Beginner Weekend
Get it done in one weekend on this ultimate learn-to-SUP course. We'll teach you the basic strokes and skills needed to progress from flatwater to beginner whitewater. You will also learn about equipment selection, basic rescue skills and group safety. Prerequisite: none. Participants must take the lessons in the order given. A. Intro to Lake Stand Up Paddleboarding
This 2.5 hour course will give you the skills needed to enjoy a day of flatwater, outside on a stand up paddleboard. We'll teach you proper paddling form and how to balance and maneuver the board. You'll learn about equipment, paddling safety and the best locations. Prerequisite: none. Includes: instructor, all SUP gear.
A+. Advanced Lake stand Up Paddleboarding
This 2.5 hour course will build on you SUP skills learned in the intro to lake program and continue the progression on a stand up paddleboard. We'll fine tune your flatwater skills that will make you a techniqally sound paddler. This course will make the transition onto the river that much easier. Prerequisite: none but A. Intro to Lake Stand Up Paddleboarding is recommended. Includes: instructor, all SUP gear.
B. Intro to River Stand Up Paddleboarding
Build on your flatwater SUP skills with this fun, full day moving water course. We'll head to the Bow River at Bowness Park, where you'll be introduced to eddy turns and forward ferries—the skills you need to safely navigate the river. You will be introduced to river safety and gain more confidence in river running. Prerequisite: A. Intro to Lake Stand Up Paddleboarding or equivalent, ability to swim 20m without difficulty. Includes: instructor, all SUP gear.
C. Intro to Whitewater Stand Up Paddleboarding
Feel the thrill of moving through beginner rapids and Class II waves on the Bow River. Join us for an afternoon of paddling at Harvie Passage here in Calgary. Improve your moving-water skills as we work on getting you better on your feet. Prerequisite: B. Intro to River Stand Up Paddleboarding or equivalent, ability to swim 20m without difficulty. Includes: instructor, all SUP gear.
Intro to SUP Racing with Kootenay PDL
This is the summer to set goals and get motivated to challenge yourself. In Partnership with Kootenay Paddleboards, We'll instruct and coach the progression of your skills, preparing you for an exciting and fun flatwater SUP race. Get ready to work on strength, balance, speed and endurance as you are introduced to the rules and techniques of SUP racing. Prerequisite: none. Includes: instructor, all SUP gear.
Join us for a fun new way to stay fit this Summer; outside on a stand up paddle board! Get coached in a five week fitness program designed to get you motivated and give you a great core workout. We'll meet at a local flatwater location for two hours in the evening once a week, and work on strength, balance and endurance while introducing the basics of stand up paddle boarding.
