Rafting Expedition: Teen Program
Go whitewater rafting and spend three days on one of the most popular whitewater rivers close to Calgary—the Red Deer River. Learn about paddle strokes, water safety, and navigating rapids from a raft guide.
Note: river choice is subject to change based on water levels at the time and camping is not at designated campsites and will not have toilet facilities.
Prerequisite: ability to swim 50m with a lifejacket.
Includes: instruction, paddling guides and equipment, all group gear, transportation (food is not included).
Parent and participant pre-trip meeting: July 9 at 6:30 pm.
Expeditions are activity-based, multi-day overnight trips. Please review the list of required items in the details below that you will be expected to bring. Each expedition also has a pre-trip meeting that you must attend with a parent. In that meeting, guides will discuss the required items and cover meal planning (food is not included).
Intro to Pack Rafting
Want a new way to explore the wilderness? Our pack rafts are 1-man inflatable kayaks weighing just 5 lbs! An experienced guide will teach you the basics of paddling a pack raft on the Bow River to get you comfortable paddling on your own. Prerequisite: none. Includes: instructor, all packrafting gear.
Bow River, AB - Raft
This 2-day rafting trip is the perfect introduction to overnight tripping for families, or anyone who wants to learn the basics of wilderness camping. At the pre-trip meeting the week before, we'll cover all the logistics. On Saturday morning we'll start paddling the scenic stretch of the Bow River from Fish Creek Park to Carseland, and spend the weekend enjoying picturesque prairie and woodland landscape. This trip can be done in a raft or river kayak. Prerequisite: pretrip meeting. Includes: guide, all rafts/kayaks/group camping gear.
Kootenay River, BC - Raft
The Kootenay is a renowned stretch of river that has a lot to offer rafters, including exhilarating whitewater, scenic canyons, spectacular mountain vistas and wildlife sighting opportunities. This is a 2.5 day trip that is great to do with a group of friends or family, and can be done in a raft or river kayak. Prerequisite: none. Includes: Includes: guide, all canoe/group camping gear.
North Saskatchewan River, AB - Raft
The North Saskatchewan is a classic Alberta river trip. This stretch of river has so much to offer—fun waves, deep canyon walls, incredible scenery and great camping. We start out at Saunders Ledge Friday evening and end the trip at Rocky Mountain House Sunday afternoon. You can choose to skip the big features or hit all the big waves. Choose to paddle a raft or river kayak. Prerequisite: pretrip meeting. Includes: guide, raft/kayak/group camping gear.
Custom Rafting Floats
Let us take you on a float trip on different sections of the Bow River. We will provide an experienced raft instructor to teach you the basics of how to paddle a raft and how to identify the real hazards. You have the choice to relax and float or to learn about rescues, obstacle avoidance and picking the safest river channels. Prices do not include transportation but is available. Minimum payment is for 5 people. Flexibility is our specialty, We can tailor rafting trips to your groups needs! Please give 2 weeks notice for custom trips.
Custom Whitewater Rafting
Get your group out on the whitewater of the Upper Red Deer River near Sundre! This river has exciting class 2/3 rapids with lots of waves and exciting drops at Gooseberry ledge, Jimbo's staircase and the S bend. We can help set up a custom trip—anything from fully-guided to just shuttle service between the put-in and the take-out. Please book 2 weeks in advance.
