Fall 2022 starts on August 15.

Welcome to Adult Karate Club. The University of Calgary Karate Club teaches practical defensive strategies against habitual acts of violence within the tradition of old style Okinawan karate (Koryu Uchinadi Kenpo-jutsu).Training provides excellent whole-body physical conditioning and functional/realitybased self-defense. This 14 week program focuses on brown through black belt levels.

This club is part of Bunbukan Karate and more information can be found on the club website www.bunbukan.ca.

Important Information for Participants:

Participants must not attend class if they are sick, or a member of their household is sick, even if symptoms resemble a mild cold. Symptoms to look for include: fever, cough, shortness of breath, sore throat, runny nose, nasal congestion, headache, and a general feeling of being unwell. 

Youth Karate

Spring 2023 Registration starts April 1.

This program teaches practical defensive strategies against habitual acts of violence within the tradition of classical Okinawan karate (Koryu Uchinadi Kenpo-jutsu). The program uses both modern and ancient pedagogical principles to develop the exceptional coping strategies and characteristics of our students. Highly prized virtues of our students include: courtesy, humility, effort, focus, patience, perseverance & courage. This is an excellent family program and parent-child participation is strongly encouraged.
