Field Hockey camps are designed for male and female high school and adults who are looking to develop and advance their skills. The camps will teach skills that you can work into your game, while also teaching advanced skills to take your game to the next level. The programs are led by current Dinos Field Hockey coaches and athletes.

Youth Field Hockey

Next Session will be Fall 2023.

Indoor field hockey is considered a different sport from traditional outdoor field hockey and uses different sticks, balls and team sizes.  Played on a hard surface with boards, it is excellent for developing quick reflexes and hand eye coordination and makes for a thrilling game!

Participants will focus on learning and refining their indoor skills through fun drills and mini games. There will also be opportunities for tactical development and game play.

Mouth guards and shin guards are mandatory. As well, all participants are required to provide their own indoor field hockey sticks, or may rent them through Field Hockey Alberta.
The program at the University is partnered with Calgary Junior Field Hockey and Field Hockey Alberta. Participants will also be required to submit program/membership fees through Field Hockey Alberta registration portal:

Participants must not attend class if they are sick, or a member of their household is sick, even if symptoms resemble a mild cold. Symptoms to look for include: fever, cough, shortness of breath, sore throat, runny nose, nasal congestion, headache, and a general feeling of being unwell.

There will also be some opportunities for some tactical and game play/scrimmages. Mouth guards and shin guards are mandatory. All participants are required to provide their own indoor field hockey stick, mouth guard, shin guards, and gloves.

The program at the University is partnered with the Astros Field Hockey Club, who provide the coaching and equipment. University students who are members of other local clubs are able to join the University program and train, but should let their current club know. There may be an additional fee to cover the cost of supplies purchased by the Astros Club to run the program (examples of these costs include:  balls, pylons, pinnies, tape, etc.).
