Our experienced instructors will teach you the basics and help you to become a strong, confident climber on the University of Calgary bouldering wall.

Climbing and Bouldering Wall Booking

Experiential programs as short as 1 hour and educational classes that cater to any skill level and interest.

All of our lessons start with a brief (15-20min) lesson that covers basic belay skills and climbing safety, then the participants have the remaining time to apply these skills and climb.  In longer programs, Instructors can include additional rope skills, movement lessons and/or rappelling.

After learning bouldering safety and falling techniques (5min) participants receive free bouldering time as well as directed movement lesson(s) supported by engaging games and challenges.

Spring Send Off

The UCboulder Club is stoked to be collaborating with the Outdoor Center to help you finish off the Winter Semester with a send.  Come get your climb on and celebrate the re-opening of the bouldering wall with all the amazing people in our climbing community.  With prize giveaways, sponsorship from a local brewery, and new angles/holds/volumes to play on, you will want to make sure you sign up in advance and save your spot.

University of Calgary Boulderers

Join a friendly community of climbers and learn new movement skills each class.   Accelerate through the learning curve with games, drills and friends cheering you on.

Bouldering Basics

This 2 hour introductory course explores key bouldering movement skills such as footwork, weight shifting and safe falling techniques.  Climbing shoes and chalk are included and personalized climbing tips will help you discover see how fun bouldering can be!

Climbing Technique Series

Go back to school in this combo technique and fitness program.  Expand your movement repertoire, learn how to focus your mind, improve mobility and build strength to achieve your climbing and fitness goals. Prerequisite Previous instruction on basic movement techniques recommended. 


Break out of the boring gym routine and have fun achieving a full-body burn while developing body awareness and balance.  Learn how to use the suspension training system along with climbing specific resistance training and on the wall exercises that will help you send harder and improve overall fitness.

Get Active! PD Day

Active Living is excited to offer your family a variety of activities on PD Days! Engage your child’s mind and body through a variety of safe and fun activities offered by Active Living including indoor climbing, gymnastics, gym games and active gaming. Your child won’t want to miss out on this exciting new opportunity to get active instead of sitting at home on a PD Day! Activities are presented as examples only and may change due to availability.

Calgary's Not-So-Serious Bouldering Competition Whatever your skill level, this semi-competitive event will be fun way to challenge yourself and get first dibs on sending all the sweet new boulder problems.
