~Seeking East Asian Young Adults (18-25) from Transnational Families~

Dr. Grace Kim at the Wheelock College in Boston has asked us to help promote a research project she is conducting on East Asian transnational families. (aka. astronaut families) She is looking for participants who have or are currently studying in Canada away from their families. If you complete this survey, you will be entered into a draw for one of two $50 gift certificates!!

All you have to do is go to www.psychdata.com survey # 129419. This only takes 30-40 minutes, nice and simple. It's good experience and a free chance to win $50.

Hi all, here is a quick annoucement:

First of all, HKSA would like to thank HKCBA for coming out to talk to us at our welcome back party, I'm sure a lot of members would find this organization very useful for the future.

For those of you who missed it, generally HKCBA (Hong Kong-Canada Business Association) is an organization that is the gateway between Canadian and Hong Kong businesses. Fortunately enough, this year, the HKCBA Calgary chapter has agreed to work with HKSA to connect more students and a even more diverse population with a variety of opportunities in Hong Kong. This would range from networking with people who are in this field, gaining a better understanding of the connection between Canadian and Hong Kong businesses and even recruiting for a wide variety of job opportunites for those who wish to work in Hong Kong after graudation.

***The first event HKCBA will be hosting with HKSA is an information session for recruiting Hong Kong Government Administration Officers. This will be held Thursday Oct 1, 2009 in MacEwan Student Center Room 275 @ 5pm.

As per tradition the HKSA hosted Welcome Back Dance (aka. fob night) will be held at The Whiskey on Friday Sept 18th this year. Make sure you pick up your tickets at our booth during clubs week!! They are $5 for members and $7 for non-members. If you can't make it during clubs week, you may also contact any of our execs for tickets.

Dress code is still in effect, and tickets will get you in no line, no cover before 10:30pm plus 1 free drink!!**

Welcome back everyone, we hope you all had a great summer! HKSA is very excited for another fun-filled year with a brand new council on board and many new ideas.
