Our peer support program trains women from a variety of backgrounds on assisting and advocating for women both in groups and one-on-one. Peer Supporters receive first class training developing skills in active listening and crisis response among others. This intake and referral service is also available online through our searchable collection of organizations and resources for women.
Volunteers (Peer Helpers) are the heart and soul of the Women’s Resource Centre. All of our programs are led by volunteers representing different sectors of the community campus including students, staff, faculty and members of the Calgary community.
Our centre houses a collection of books, journal articles and magazines that are informative and inspiring for women. All of our books are donated by community members and we welcome donations of new or gently used books. We focus on the most recent and relevant literature for and about women and gender issues.
The Women Guiding Women Mentorship and Leadership Training Program (WGW) was initiated in January of 2007.
