EDITOR’S NOTE: The community consultation for Energizing Eyes High is now complete. Thank you to everyone in the campus community who took part. Read the UToday article about the wrap-up of the consultation process, or view a slideshow summarizing the results of all 11 online polls.
There is just over one week to go to join the more than 3,000 people who have completed the online survey to refine the university’s strategic direction. The online survey will close at the end of the day on Wednesday, Nov. 30. Anyone who completes the online survey is eligible to enter a draw for one of 10 iPad Pros. The random draw for the iPad Pros from focus group and survey participants will be held on Thursday, Dec. 1. Winners will be notified by Monday, Dec. 5.
Many online survey participants have taken time to provide detailed comments:
“I have seen growth in collaboration on campus and within Calgary and Canada. University Relations (and I don’t work for them) do a fabulous job with their UToday stories. I am always so impressed to see how diverse U of C’s connections are,” wrote one survey respondent.
“Increased involvement in the Calgary community. Often there isn’t much connection between the university and the city we live in. Students that come to U of C from other cities end up missing out on a lot that Calgary has to offer because there aren’t [many] opportunities for connection,” wrote another respondent.
More than 2,800 people have participated in the online polls over the past eight weeks
Take a few minutes to watch the Energizing Eyes High video and be inspired by President Elizabeth Cannon speaking about the origins of Eyes High, where we are heading and why it’s important to participate in the consultation process.

What happens next?
Feedback will help focus UCalgary priorities and impact funding decisions going forward. Once the consultation feedback is collected and analyzed, a refined strategic direction will move through our governance bodies — the General Faculties Council and the Board of Governors — before it is launched in spring 2017.
