Alumni Relations

Our division of University Relations is responsible for enhancing the reputation of the University of Calgary and its alumni; creating positive relationships between University of Calgary and its alumni (including future alumni); and integrating alumni initiatives to support student recruitment and retention and enhance the student experience.

The University of Calgary boasts an alumni family of 140,000 graduates who make remarkable contributions to the business, health, social, cultural and political life of Calgary and many other communities around the world. In fact, while two-thirds of our alumni stay right here in Calgary to live and work, our alumni are also found in 148 countries around the world, expanding the University of Calgary’s global reach every year.

As a core team within University Relations, Alumni Relations works to create awareness and interest for our alumni success stories, and inspire pride in–and communicate the many benefits of–being a University of Calgary graduate.

Membership in the alumni family has its practical benefits, from preferred rates for home and auto insurance, to savings at resorts, local businesses and much more. Other exclusive offers to you include a subscription to Umag–the University of Calgary’s flagship magazine–and to ArchE, our monthly alumni e-newsletter.

Perhaps the greatest benefit of the University of Calgary alumni family, though, is being connected to a network of people who share a love of knowledge and a desire to see our grads succeed.

In partnership with the University of Calgary Alumni Association, each year Alumni Relations recognizes the contributions of two of our finest graduates through the Arch Awards: Distinguished Alumni and Graduate of the Last Decade. In total, 32 of our graduates have been celebrated.

Introduced in 2009, the Future Alumni Award recognizes an outstanding current student whose achievements demonstrate great potential.

Collectively, our alumni have made it possible for this young institution to grow, prosper and make remarkable strides forward. The success of our graduates will help position the University of Calgary to be a leading university in the future.
