Location: Mexico City

Language of Instruction: Spanish. Students must have completed a minimum of Spanish 303 (4 semesters of Spanish) or the equivalent to participate in this exchange.

Eligibility / Restrictions: This exchange is open to regular, full-time students in any faculty at the U of C, who have completed at least 1 full year (10 courses) at the post-secondary level, with a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.7 (B-).

Description: UNAM is the education institution with the longest academic and cultural history in Mexico. Its origins date back to 1551, and its current structure goes back to 1910. UNAM has over 130,000 students enrolled in undergraduate programs.

The Transfer Credit Database contains information on previous courses which have been transferred from this institution, however students are not limited to these courses. For specific transfer credit information contact your Academic Advisor.

Academic Calendar: First Semester: early August to mid December; Second Semester: early February to late June.

Housing: UNAM does not have student residences, however they can arrange for students to be placed with host families. Once accepted, UNAM will provide updated information about these options. Students can also choose to arrange their own off-campus accommodation. Housing costs approximately $340 USD per month.
