Student Assessment and Feedback Strategies

*Thank you for your interest in this workshop. Registration is now full and sign-ups for this workshop are closed.*

There are many different types of grading methods ranging from multiple-choice exams, research projects, to group presentations. These methods can assess student learning in different ways and at the same time be used to provide meaningful feedback to help with their motivation and ongoing development. This workshop explores the possibilities of formal and informal assessments, using technology, creating rubrics, and providing feedback to students.

By the end of the workshop, participants will be able to:

  • Identify University of Calgary grading policies, including academic integrity;
  • Select appropriate assessment methods to evaluate student learning;
  • Create an assessment rubric to best measure student performance; and
  • Explore methods to provide effective feedback to students.

This workshop can be used toward the 2017-2018 Emerging Teachers Development Program.

This is a My GradSkills endorsed workshop.
